2.2 [Work in Progress] Thesis 2: Major Project / Thesis Materials

After speaking with my professor the previous week, I have given further thought to the project. On the one hand, it's about thinking about the existing problems and trying different solutions (color/size/position of posters and signs, etc.). On the other hand, it's about thinking about the details of the existing deliverable: what parts work, what parts don't work... Here are some answers that came out of the reflection and more questions:

1.     Not rebranding:

1). for muni and bart: based on the issue I found, focuse on muni instead of both of them.  - keep the same logo but bringing the color and maybe the guideline to the current   

visual system.

-       How to better integrate with the environment？(Integration/innovation with existing device forms)

   2). Kiosk store: a similar feeling but something different use of color, illustration, material? (also thinking how to translate logo)

2.     Posters and biilboard:

1)     Check size : 18*24, 24*36, the one for bus/bart might be bigger?

2)     Orange works not well with green. Too much noice in the background, too much things compete each other.

3)     How to communicate better?

-       No clear information shows if it’s a public transit add/ uber, dating app?

-       Not showing advantages of app (taglines -> explaination?)

Different between this and uber/google?

What it can do for people?

-       No guidance for downloading apps

-       Bad Legibility

Is posters work for app?

Make posters and billboards for public transit

Digital platform for app: social media? Intro videos?

Signs and Way Finding

Based on my discussion with my professor last week, I began exploring the way finding section. I redesigned the Muni and Bart logos based on my thoughts about integrating public transportation branding. I made some changes to the information screen based on the visual guidelines. I also started to incorporate some of the unique signs. This is just some exploration of existing issues and does not mean I will use these.

The redesigned part doesn't look apply for me. They have lost their personality. I need to come up with some better ideas or solutions to make them work well together.
