After a winter vacation, I will continue this three-semester thesis project. Before starting, I took my time to start making or perfecting the project. Instead, I reviewed what I had completed last semester and thought more deeply about some remaining questions and feedback. A list of some ideas was made. It includes further thoughts on the project, solutions suggested by the feedback, and questions for future work.

and here is the copy writing: Based on the questions last week:

1.  Detailed wayfinding design: what is the work gonna be?  List the thing I plan to design maybe with picture? It’s easier to explain.

The goal of wayfinding is not just to inform but also to create environments that are intuitive to navigate, thereby enhancing overall user satisfaction and accessibility.

Directional Signage: Signs that guide users along their journey, indicating directions to key locations or facilities.muni:

-  A guide sign model: in between stations and stops that guide people to walk to the them without checking the phone.

-  A small bus board at the stop that doesn’t have a landmark: still can see it without checking phone also let people know where is the stop at.

Maps and Diagrams: Visual representations of an area that help users orient themselves and plan their route.

-  Map for bart works but is the map for muni works? Too much information also not sure if people what to see all of that in one time…its also hard to see them in one time too.

(Symbols and Icons: Standardized graphics that convey information about facilities and services (e.g., restrooms, parking, accessibility features) at a glance. at least 4 signs for muni, bart, ferry, arrows. But other than that don’t have a idea yet.)

(Color Coding and Theming: Use of colors or themes to distinguish different areas or paths, making navigation intuitive.)

2.  Thinking about if nesessary to design posters to promote public transit too(not for app but for public transit)

2-3 posters

1-2 billboards

(examples)

3.  If muni and bart system gonna be integrated? Like are they gonna show up on the same map? Are they using the same guiding system? Am I gonna change there logo?

In my opinion, the project (eventually) will make everything in the system, but they should have some characteristic for each one. There should some integration there, but how to show their

-Personality within the same visual system?

-Block and line(as visual elements) to redesign logo?

-Different major color?

4. Is kiosk store gonna be a side brand? If im gonna design a new logo (not gonna be that different from the original one) and using kind of the same color system for it (we will see)

5Note:

App: I can do nothing to help with crazy people, but what is something I can do as a graphic designer to make it better?

1. Mark dangerous areas on the map, like where crazy people usually show up, using color or graphic to visualize the level.

2. Linky (community center) for people to post experience, include the dangerous thing( can be interesting thing too) and when they saw crazy people to remind other people the latest condition of what part of the city and public transit.

Posters

I printed the poster from last semester and brought it to class, hoping to get more development suggestions through critique. Below is a presentation of class notes.
